Swine Flu Panic
The current swine flu has us all suddenly alarmed about a pandemic. I have looked into this astrologically and my feeling is there will not be mass casualties. But we are going to be preoccupied by this and it's going to raise some very important questions. I see this as a crucial and important step in reevaluating how we treat animals, especially in reference to eating them.
Astrology Prediction
Astrologically, the main catalyst of this outbreak, in my opinion, is the recent ingress of Jupiter into sidereal Aquarius. This ingress occurred (according to my calculations) on April 28. This is important because it is my feeling the main corrupting factor in a deadly disease, astrologically, is the planet Neptune and also Ketu, the South Node. When Jupiter entered sidereal Aquarius April 28, it moved within a couple degrees of transiting Neptune. Jupiter will enjoy dancing with Neptune for the next {{few|several}} months. This will occur in the sign of Aquarius, the sign of our collective culture. Suddenly, there is a big issue (Jupiter rules big things) and it's all very confusing (Neptune) to the entire world, on a massive scale.
Pretty crazy when you think about it. A week ago, no one was thinking about swine flu -- now it's on everyone's mind.
Spanish Flu and Avian Flu Scares
The Spanish flu epidemic of 1918-1920 saw a series of difficult transits of Ketu conjunct Pluto, Saturn over Pluto, Saturn over Ketu, Saturn conjunct Neptune. For five years these troublesome planets contacted each other - culminating in the Saturn/Neptune conjunction for more than a year. It was the proximity of Saturn and Neptune that created the death on a mass scale. That, and the proximity of the South node to Pluto. In order for there to be such mass death, Saturn must be involved as he rules actual things of this Earth that happen over a long period of time. The outer planets are related to long-term trends, but I do not predict their actual, worldly effects nearly as concretely as the visible planets. In 2005-2006 we had the avian flu scare, this is when Saturn and Neptune were in an exact opposition. Yet, no such flu happened on a large scale - no Ketu or Pluto association. From the end of 2006 through the middle 2008 Ketu and Saturn were in the same sign (Leo), and crossed. Yet, there was no associations of Neptune, Ketu or Pluto. Currently Pluto and Uranus are in a wide square, but I do not see this to be nearly as potent as a conjunction.
Jupiter|Neptune Conjunction
The main transit I see driving this outbreak is the very recent Jupiter/Neptune conjunction. Given the dignity of Venus and the Sun -- and the continued dignity of Mars and Venus for the next several months (both wither with an exalted planet or a planet in its own sign) - I do not see this leading to mass catastrophe. I see this as a catalyst for mass consciousness and hopefully a wake-up call to those who roll their eyes and snicker in the face of animal rights activists - who are not only interested in saving the planet (factory farming and meat consumption is incredibly wasteful of our resources) but also sparing intelligent beings from a life of torture.
I'm sorry if you're a meat eater and this language offends you - but, this is how I see it and there are facts to back all of this up.
